The Late Bloomer

The original is an experiment in paint, an intention, a prayer, a growing up of myself and a growing out of that which no longer serves. She started out as a playful exercise in mixed media and bloomed into a piece that moved me through a change of home, an embracing of purpose, a release of roles, a loss of friends, a love of dogs, and a daughter blossoming into womanhood. She is the personification of abundance rooted in self, blossoming through changes, and taking her time to become the garden that she is.
