The archetypes of The Priestess and The Empress tarot cards are used as portals in "Above & Below". When oriented with "The Below" in view, it indicates a time of going inward. The underworld as inner-world, a time to explore the shadows of the dark forest, to discover and mine our soul gems. It's the realm of Persephone, Queen of Death. Rotate, and the portal to "The Above" is in view. The Empress, Goddess of Love, The Great Mother. She is the outward expression of nature, abundance, and celebration of being embodied. She shares the gifts of life... the bounty, the beauty. She harvests the rewards manifest in the outer world due to the work done in the inner/under world. Creating this piece has been an exploration of my ability to navigate between these two places. It's also an invitation to the viewer to interact with the art by deciding which orientation represents where they are in their life, at this moment.
~This is a print of the paper original of Above & Below. Note that the size of these Enhanced Edition prints are smaller than the Limited Edition as the paper original is a smaller piece than the Wood Original. I love this piece so much I made it twice~
Watermarks on website photography are not on actual prints.
